Welp, that’s a nice toasty dead HDD. Notes for SZS OP/SZS 4/Bake5/Mazinger 17 p. much delayed, but Bake is out now and SZS is @qc.
Bake stuff I can’t help but note now:
22:13 “Can we put it into words”: some would argue that since she wants Araragi to say something, it should be “can you put it into words”. these people are true issyodotei.
22:29 Callback to ep 3 gag on moe.
23:39 IJN and IJA tended to give two-rank posthumous promotions for soldiers killed in action. Zan 4 uses this same gag.
Well, two things:
1) REALLY sorry about the HDD, had that happen to a friend recently and… yeah. it sucks.
2)… You rock.
woa shit you didn’t mention the hdd on irc bro
sorry about that, i know how it feels
Sorry to hear about the HDD >.<
[SZS 4] 8:36 ~ 8:50
A joke is lost in translation here. At 8:47, Nozomu makes it sound as if Nana became popular *because* how the two Nanas meet at the beginning of the story (by not minding the so-called “TPO”). Since the dramatic scene that Matoi and Nozomu refer to here merely opens the story, and it’s really what happens *after* the two Nanas meet that turns the manga/eiga into a big hit, Nami voices her disagreement at 8:49. As the “だから” at 8:47 isn’t translated, what Nami truly objects to becomes lost.
If you aren’t currently using a backup solution yet, you may want to give Acronis True Image a try when you have a chance. I use it to set up an automatic backup schedule for my HDD partitions.
For the aforementioned reference, I propose using “That’s why it was a hit.” for Nozomu’s line.
Regarding Acronis True Image, not only can one use its backup archive to restore an entire HDD, one can selectively restore individual files, too.
Are you going to post some articles to bake06/7…?
And who is “Airhead Hachibei”?
